Mozambique 2006/07 but my archives from 06 have gone missing so these are from the two trips in 07

From the borderpost to Ponto it’s a few kilometers through the dunes

So you better have a sturdy 4X4 or know someone with one.

Greg Emslie 2007. Ponto was the first time I had shot from a boat so it was a bit tricky at first but soon got over the sickness

Lungani Memani 2007. Funny story with this trip, a hippo had been spending most of the day in the shallows and Lungani flat out refused to walk past it.

Gary Van Wieringingen 2007. One evening on this trip Gary ate 3 main courses 2 deserts and still had a snack after, the guy can eat.

Clinton Gravett 2007. Clinton had a bust ankle but still came on the trip, he was designated fisherman when everyone else surfed.

Ryan Ribbink 2007. Ryans boat is more than just a platform for photos it’s a good fishing vessel too

When you get skunked and go on a search if you don’t find waves you will find a bar in the sticks with ice cold beverages

Down time means exploration time

Don’t expect paved roads and expect loads of kids screaming SWEEEEEEETS

Mozambique may be a 3rd world country but there is still comfortable accommodation

There is a local market catering to your needs

And a post office but when your mail arrives home is debatable

Don’t break down your spares may never arrive

Greg Emslie 2007. We had been kinda skunked for waves most of the trip, Greg wanted to get home to his newborn baby and wife and we hadn’t got THE shot yet so as the sun dipped we headed back out to give it one more go.

Until Mozambique I didn’t think you could get water so clear in Africa

So clear you can see what is about to scalp you

And play with the fun locals

At the end of the day a bad surf is better than no surf

When your trip is over go home and leave only your foot prints
