A big up to Ryan Balfour and his merry men for pulling off an awesome event, raising some good cash (around R10K) and pulling the community together to help one of their own. Stephen wants to give something back to the sea on the basis that it gives so much inspiration and excitement to us as surfers. To that end he’s donated an original oil painting to be raffled. 2. Mark Shepperson
Mark is the man who works tirelessly behind the scenes at theBOMBsurf making sure all the content gets loaded on time, newsletters get sent out on time and magazines end up getting to their rightful owners. In his semi final at the KJSC he beat Simon Nicholson and looked sure to finish atop the podium in the finals. However he allowed Simmo to make a move and the next thing he knew he was runner up. Eish talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory!
1. The PE surfers who had a big night on Friday (you know who you are!!!)
This sorry bunch ended up missing classic waves on Saturday morning as a result. The reality is that PE doesn’t get a lot of great waves, so when its on you REALLY don’t want to miss it. Most of the usual suspects were out there, but there one or two notable exceptions... It could be a while until you get waves again...
