A hidden gem in the land of averages, somewhere on South Africa's East Coast, where the water is bearable, wind is offshore six days a week and you will be looking for someone to surf with. Oh, did I forget to mention that it pumps about 300 days a year. |

Rosy Hodge doing what she does best, Blowing out the fins with her powerful and stylish surfing. These shots are so rare, so bagging one like this is really satisfying. |

Name: Sacha Specker
DOB: 25/08/83
Born and raised in Cape Town, I grew up on the beach and started riding a surfboard when I was 11 years old. After about 2 years, I got into bodyboarding and followed a career in Bodyboarding ever since. Travelling the globe in search of waves and competitive results my memories consisted of golden moments depicting heaving slabs infold onto West Australian reefs and backwashes turning 8 foot Pipeline bombs into 12 foot mutants.
In 2007 I decided that I wanted to become a water photographer to capture all these experiences, which lead to me purchasing a housing. With only a water housing in hand, I was forced to follow through and buy a camera and lens, which was the beginning to my infatuation and utter addiction to photography, especially in the water. My biggest influences have been guys like Caleb Bjergfelt, Lance Slabbert, Ted Grimbeau, Scott Aichner, Ray Collins, Chris van Lennep and Tungsten (Erick Regnard).
Of course without the support and understanding of my girlfriend Rosy, my path would undoubtably be taking me a different way. She is the one who has to live with me and keeps supporting. As we all know this is a task on its own, since photographers are not normal people.
Over and Out!
