Από της Viviane Reding:The new Regulation will not prescribe a spcfieic “ideal” price for international roaming, but would require that international roaming charges are not higher than national roaming charges. Roaming charges are paid for using the network of another operator, and thus should not be higher in an internal market just because the other network is placed in another EU Member State. In this respect, the Regulation will follow the example of the EU Regulation on cross-border payments in euros, which mandated that bank transfers in euros between the EU Member States must not be higher than domestic bank transfers.Είναι εντυπωσιακό πόσο κακό είναι το του BBC από το οποίο παίρνει κανείς την εντύπωση ότι οι τιμές του roaming προτείνεται να εξομοιωθούν με τις τιμές για κλήσεις από ένα δίκτυο σε άλλο δίκτυο στην ίδια χώρα.

Fluctuation of currency, comitdmoy, etc. values have made me think a lot about wealth what is it really and where does it come from? There is certainly a great deal of difficult-to-measure wealth in healthy ecosystems that produce food and drinkable water, also in social cooperation and peace, trust in one's neighbor, etc. Our global economic system that is based on growth and limitless commons is running into hard limits. I think it's easy to tracing soaring prices to longstanding raiding on the commons. The dollar, the euro, and eventually even gold and oil will lose value against arable land, uncontaminated seafood, water-rich regions, and other things that we (as a species) have taken for granted and managed poorly for decades.

(Electronics) I recently got three of these hehnoapdes for five dollars more than your price for one. Was not sure if I wanted them at the time, however I am glad I got them. They seem to be very good quality, and amazing efficient. It seems the computer volume has to be as low as it can go as they are loud. They sound very good, and have good response. The cloth coated cords could be longer, but that depends on their use. I thought they were quit comfortable. They have swivel and tilt so they take the angle of my head real good. By the I am not a critic of Amazon here I got better deals here to. That is why I have made them my number one place for videos. If they don't have it they will find it for you. Their service is great.

Tried and tested
24/05/2012
By Jeremy Johnson.
I recently had the pleasure to test the latest Waverunner in the FX Series from Yamaha. From a surfing point of view the new FX model has everything you want during those long days out at sea, especially when it's heaving and conditions are super gnarly.
This 2012 model is a modern make over of the original FX series Waverunner that Yamaha brought out in 2002. Like I said, you want to be comfortable, you want to be able to store what you need for a day on the water and you want performance for when things get hectic. This model has a more powerful engine, has come a long way in terms of a sleeker, comfortable outfitting as well as lots of water tight storage space. So this model definitely ticks all the boxes for me.
To get a bit more specific, the new Yamaha FX Super High Output (SHO) is the smoothest and most powerful 3 seater they have ever made. This new FX model has very agile handling and is fuel efficient due to Yamahas unique NanoXcel material which is 25% lighter than conventional materials. The new NanoXcel hull is 19cm longer and gives the driver more space and stability. The new model also has 40% more storage space and all the storage compartments are water tight.
People who know me will tell you that besides surfing big waves, my other love is fishing!
I have spent 100s of hours on a jet ski fishing and some of the preferred fishing spots take a good 30 min to get to. Everything that I have thought about and wanted in a ski has come out in this new model! You have a cruise control option with up and down thumb buttons to adjust your speed, which is great for your initial run out from the harbour or beach as well as for all the time one spends trawling. The extra stability and storage space is also a huge bonus.
Finally when going out into the ocean, what ever the weather and sea conditions are, you are putting your trust in your craft. To have a machine that has proved its worth for over 10 years in all types of conditions is a huge confidence booster and lets one carry on with the real reason they are out there, to have fun, safely and comfortably.

Effem is right, don't buy over the net. Go to a dealer, near where you live, that will be there when you need parts and screive. If want a less expensive brand, that's OK as long as you have the local dealership to fall back on when you need help.In a general way, the inexpensive brands (mostly from china) don't have a dealer networks and so they can sell at rock bottom prices because the operate out of a warehouse and don't even sell assembled scoots. If you look at their websites and they have a tab for spare parts, check it out. There will only be several parts for the bike, not every part you could ever need. Finally quality. When Japanese products where first imported to western markets, these products were none for there cheap price and inferior quality. That has all changed since the 50 s and 60 s. Now it is the chinese who have to catch up with QA before they have a good product.

it could easily pull all 3. but wdoabkeraing and skiiing behind a waverunner is no fun. They create almost no wake, and the point of these 2 sports is to do tricks off of the wake. tubing behind a waverunner isnt bad, but its always more fun on a boat

O'Neill 60 years of Innovation Art Tour
22/05/2012
The Durban Exhibition:
This was an industry function I was looking forward to! I was especially excited since theBOMBsurf, for over a year, has been planning a dedicated surf-art issue, So it was great to see the surf industry embracing this initiative of O'Neill's - the Art of innovation Tour.
All the Surf Industry players were there, Jordy and his many followers were there, shapers, socialites, media and artists turned out. The Umthombo kids were there which was cool, and I had a good chat to Dean Elliot, one of the SA guys who contributed to the exhibition.
The general feeling from the crowd was definitely one of respect for Mr. Jack O'Neill and the many original wetsuits on display paid tribute to this. The art was also very inspiring, the main talk of which was around the massive Liam Gerrard charcoal sketch of Jack, and then the Mark Penxa image.
Check out the slideshow for more...
O'Neill 60 Year Anniversary Global Innovation
And Art Exhibition is in Durban this week!
BOMBsurf subscribers have the opportunity to see The South African leg of the O'Neill global Innovation and Art Exhibition, which is in Durban this Thursday 5 July 2012 at "The Upstairs bar" Of Spiga D'Oura in Florida rd, from 7pm.
If you love surfing, you love art, or like we do at theBOMBsurf - love both - then you don;t want to miss this.
The exhibition is a tribute to the legacy of O'Neill founder Jack o'Neill which includes local artists entering art pieces as representations of Jack himself.
“We have had some amazing art submissions of Jack," said O'Neill South Africa brand manager Paul Canning. "It is great to be able to celebrate 60 years of such a renowned brand in the surf industry as well as honor Jack O’Neill for all his incredible contributions he has given to the sport of surfing”
On display will also be some of the most famous wetsuits in the history of the sport. "I have also just received delivery of the original wetsuits which are on this global tour," added Canning. "It's going to be awesome to see some of the early styles like the Beaver Tail, The Supersuit and The Original Animal Skin, and how the wetsuits have developed over the years to the current styles like the Psycho 2.”
Top-rated South African WCT surfer Jordy Smith is also going to be in attendance. “It is also great to have the tour in town at the moment and South Africa’s own surfing legend Jordy Smith and the rest of Team O’Neill will be there and happy to autograph posters for anyone," said Canning.
The exhibition continues on Friday and Saturday. All are welcome, so bring your laaities, your ballies, your missus and your chinas and hang out with Jordy, the crew from O'Neill and enjoy the heritage of surfing and art all in one place in Surf City.
What is the O'Neill 60 years of Innovation Art Tour?
O’Neill has embarked on an eight-month, global art and innovation tour in celebration of its 60th year of operation. So far the tour has had exhibitions in Sydney, Bali, Tokyo and recently in Holland, with the next stop scheduled for Durban, South Africa in July.
The Durban exhibition will open it’s doors to the public at The Upstairs Bar at Spiga on Florida Rd on Thursday the 5th of July at 7pm, and will be on display until 1pm on Saturday the 7th of July, and O’Neill would like to extend an invitation to anyone who would like to come and celebrate the unique story, art and wetsuit innovations from the past six decades with us.
How can BOMBsurf readers get involved?
If you'd like to attend the exhibition, email us here, and we'll pick 10 BOMBsurf readers to attend as VIP's. Jordy Smityh John-John Florence and Jarrad Howse will be in attendance.
If you are a local artist and would like to submit artwork for the show, please send a photograph of your piece to oneillart@monsterchildren.com by Friday, the 22nd of June 2012. Please include your name, age, location, website/blog and the artwork medium.
All submissions should be Jack O'Neill inspired artworks and larger formats are encouraged.
The best entries will get chosen and hung up at the exhibition and from that lot the best 6 entries will go on the rest of the global tour with the exhibition and auctioned at the end. All profits raised form the sale of the artworks will go to 5 of O'Neill's globally selected non-profit organizations, one of which is Umthombo, based right here in Durban.
More about the Tour...
Six decades of wetsuit innovation, iconic imagery and commissioned artworks are being showcased in a historic time capsule open to the public.
Global Brand Ambassador & Asia-Pacific Marketing Manager, Rob Bain, says that in this period of big business and mainstream attention, this celebration gets back to the essence of where the industry grew from. “Our company founder, Jack O’Neill, is a pioneer in all aspects of the surf industry and without his foresight and dedication to wetsuit innovation, the industry wouldn’t be where it is now,” he said, adding...
“Since 1952 O’Neill has been at the forefront of innovation and with this global exhibition we are showcasing six decades of industry firsts for O’Neill, from the wetsuit, to iconic imagery and stories.”
“Above all, this event is a celebration of Jack, his passion and his love for surfing. We want to share this with everyone, from surfers who live on the beach, to those who live in the city or suburbs but have an interest in the sport and the lifestyle."
As well as all the elements that have made O'Neill synonymous with being "The First Name In The Water' being showcased at these exhibitions, Monster Children Creative has commissioned six artists to create art pieces in the form of iconic founder Jack O'Neill. These artworks will travel to the event locations around the world, culminating in a final showing at the O'Neill Cold Water Classic ASP World Tour event at Santa Cruz, California in early November 2012.
At the conclusion of the O'Neill Cold Water Classic event, all six commissioned pieces will be auctioned off to the public, with 100% of sales proceeds shared amongst the O'Neill chosen charities, of which one is Durban based street children's rehabilitation centre, Umthombo, which introduces street children to surfing and the ocean.
At every location on this global tour, local artists will be encouraged to submit their own artworks representing Jack O'Neill, with a selection of 6 of these submitted to be included at the exhibition in the respective territories. For examples of artwork check out previous submitted pieces and imagery of Jack O'Neill here 60yearsofinnovation.tumblr.com
O'Neill South Africa's General Manager Paul Canning is excited about the upcoming tour. "We can't wait for the tour to hit Durban, " said Canning. "Just to see all the iconic wetsuits from all the different decades, the adverts from years ago and other pieces from the O'Neill vault is going to be amazing. O'Neill history is like a time capsule for our sport. We're also really keen to see how our local artists are going to depict Jack O'Neill."

Catching up with Chappy
17/05/2012
Chappy, You've been with Oakley for as long as most people can remember. Tell us how you first got involved with the brand?
It was a bit of luck. I rented out my apartment for extra cash to some windsurfers for the World Championships in PE. At the time we had a few retail stores and were growing our wholesale division. One of the guys was from Oakley in the US, we got talking and the next thing you know………
What was your background - did you know anything about eyewear?
Yes, one of stores was a sunglass boutique called Eyeswise. We had imported Dirty Dog sunglasses before so had a read on the market.
You've been based in PE most of your life, going to Grey and then NMMU - where did you learn your surfing - PE, J bay, or everywhere?
I only started surfing when I was 15, my first board was a boxy retro twin hand-me-down. I had been a Nipper since a grom and we grew up on the beach so it was a natural progression. We lived out of town with a sharky river mouth as a home break and a serious pecking order. Back in the day it was respect or a big klap or just a big klap anyhow! The ballies made us steer their kombi to Seals on surf trips. JBay was too hectic at the time but eventually we gave it a go.
In Sept 2009, I saw you get one of the longest waves I've ever seen ridden Supertubes - you took off at Boneyards, and about 2 minutes later kicked out at Albatross after 3 proper barrel sections - Can you remember that wave?
It’s tattooed on my brain forever! Warwick Heny has the footage on video(he could make a mint on YouTube), haven’t managed to get it off him yet but I remember it like it was this morning.
Is Supers your favourite wave or is there a Chappy secret spot out there?
Supers all the way! Rifles is not too shabby either ☺
Back to your work with Oakley...You left PE to work in CT after the global eyewear giant Luxottica bought Oakley in SA in 2009/2010, what was it like moving to CT? And what was it like working under Luxottica?
Oakley was pretty much “get on and make it happen” which was great, mostly we delivered. Luxottica is a huge corporate giant, 66 000 employees and a 2011 revenue of 6 billion Euros! I definitely underestimated the magnitude of the corporate environment. We built a great new team which I am proud of though. Cape Town is a beautiful city; it has to be right up there in terms of best places in the world to live. There is a lot of quality surf; I have had my head down for the last two years so haven’t explored what the West coast has to offer.
Oakley has always been pretty progressive with it's apparel and accessories. We understand you're now heading up a completely separate company to just focus on this side of the brand?
Pretty much back to my roots. The apparel business is still in start-up phase so we need to sow the seeds for long-term growth. Oakley is best known as a sunglass brand, we need to educate consumers that we have a range of surf, snow, golf and performance apparel, footwear and accessories.
What can we expect in terms of the product? Is Oakley as innovative in the apparel and accessories space as in eyewear?
Absolutely, it all about bringing products that work to the market. As our tag line goes “If it’s not good enough for the world’s best, it’s not good enough” Our Blade board short brings hydrolix technology with a built in compression short for quick muscle recovery and definitely no chafe, even for extended sessions in the islands.
Tell us what we can expect to look forward to in the other categories?
Oakley developed the lightest golf shoe on the market called Cipher with Nanospike technology, weighing in at a mere 260 grams.
Our 3-1 Blade Backpack features Hydrofuse construction for wet/dry storage and Red Code technology in our shoulder straps for extra comfort.
Our Elite Full Metal Jacket time piece features Swiss Made, Impact Forged Titanium with a 25 jewel Auto-Mechanical movement for R89,950.
Chappy, as a successful businessman, and now entrepreneur what is your business philosophy?
People do business with people! You can have the best product in the world but without quality service you fight a losing battle. The marketplace is full of product, so treat the customer with respect. Most importantly, take calculated risks and believe, nothing ever happens by chance. Passion and Humility rank high on the philosophy list!
Do you draw inspiration from a particular part of your life?
There’s no free lunch out there. I remember being 17 and my first year at ‘varsity. My old man (in his wisdom) said he would pay if I passed. One year later I was on my own, emptying dustbins at Lifestyle Surf Shop (PE) to pay the bills. Best life lesson ever!
Who are your favourite Surfers in SA right now, if you had to pick one Grom, One Junior, One Open and one Ballie?
Style ranks high for me over all the new school stuff so Rudy Palmboom, Holmsy and Frankie get my vote. I am not up to speed on the groms but Ethan Fletcher has style.
And finally...who's your money on to win the world Title this year?
Somebody starting with J -Jordy, Julian or John-John. Jordy if he wants it enough! Is there a J in KS? Thought not, can’t write him off though.
Thanks Chappy!

None of those girls ever set a leg over a bicycle not alone rode one! If the cinylcg world wants women that can market their products then at least find women that are interested in cinylcg and can ride, and not some anorexic looking bimbos.

Dreaming of the Mentawais?
15/05/2012
If you've ever dreamed of scoring the Mentawais and you're looking for the chance to check it off your bucketlist in 2012, this is your chance!
For US$3000 you get 11 nights and 10 days with the crew from the Nusantara and flights from Jakarta to Padang (return) on Geruda. Apparently Geruda doesn’t sting you for extra baggage like Lion Air! – The boat can accommodate 12, and the guys are looking for more than 8 to reduce the cost accordingly.
Boat sails night of June 9th and docks on morning of June 20th. All meals and Bintangs included, only extras are the additional $100 staff tip and photo’s if you want to purchase any.
All you need to do is get to Jakarta by the 8th June. Flights on Emirates from Cape Town, Durban or Johannesburg via Dubai to Jakarta are ±R7 500.
According to the folks in the Ments, the season so far has been spectacular and the Mentawais is a life changing experience. Ask anybody who has been on a charter!
If you're interested in going the trip contact Steve Adshade on chappy@chappy.co.za for more.

It's interesting you say that JB when you come home you just want to smash elentvey million beers.I don't drink, but I do have a very bad junk food problem, so it's always wanting to come home and have sugar or chips or something! What you're describing is what I have to fight against while producing theatre and comedy. You try to encourage people to come out and have a fun time, but you're fighting against people's overwhelming desire to just stay on the couch and recover from work, shitty colleagues, traffic, etc. Then on weekends you might be fighting people's overwhelming desire to just cut loose with a lot of drinking.I totally *get* it. Our culture is steeped in booze, we just can't get along without it. Non-drinkers like me end up as facilitators anyway I look to host my impro shows in places with bars because you're more likely to draw a few people in with the promise of refreshing beverages.Sometimes I think that I'm really lazy, but I'm generally out of the house at least four, often five nights a week. Maybe I'm not exercising as much; but I like to think that hopefully all that activity is keeping my brain engaged.Eh, who the hell knows!

Watch the Billabong Rio Pro live on your TV
10/05/2012
Good news for those of you who have slow internet is that Fuel TV, available from Top TV in South Africa, is broadcasting all of the ASP World Tour action live.
If you want to catch the action from the Billabong Rio Pro, the 3rd stop of World Tour so far in 2012, from the comfort of your own home, then you can check it out at http://www.toptv.co.za/
With Jordy already through to the 3rd round after beating former ASP World Champion CJ Hobgood and fellow American Patrick Gudauskas (USA) in the opening round, it's going to make for exciting viewing.
Currently No. 5 in the WCT rankings after third and fifth place finishes in the first two events of 2012, Smith is one of several members of the world’s top 34 surfers whose aim to take the rankings lead after Rio will benefit from the withdrawal from the event by 11 x ASP World Champion and current rankings leader Kelly Slater (USA) due to a foot injury suffered on a recent surf trip to Fiji.
Travis Logie faces a sudden death Round 2 match-up with Brazilian local Raoni Monteiro who will have his partisan home-town fans rooting for him. Logie, ranked No. 28 going into this event and the only other South African on the WCT, will take confidence from his Round 1 showing where he finished second behind a rampant Mick Fanning (AUS), the winner of the last event at Bells Beach in April.
Between 9th and 20th of May, Rio de Janeiro becomes the capital of surfing. This year, Arpoador and Barra da Tijuca will serve as the main stages for an incredible wave spectacle!
This will be the third of ten live broadcasts of the ASP World Tour that FUEL TV intends to air in 2012.

Medina in blistering form.

Gabriel Medina Wins ASP PRIME Nike Lowers Pro
LOWER TRESTLES, San Clemente, California (Saturday, May 5, 2012) - Gabriel Medina (BRA), 18, has taken out the ASP PRIME Nike Lowers Pro, defeating veteran campaigner Glenn Hall (IRL), 30, in two-to-four foot waves at Lower Trestles.
Medina got the best of an opening exchange against Hall and held the lead throughout the heat's entirety, marking him as the second consecutive Brazilian to win the Nike Lowers Pro following Miguel Pupo's (BRA), 20,
winin 2011.
"This is a very special win and it has been a long week," Medina said." I'mgoing to Brazil now with more confidence and this has been great."
Medina's run at the Nike Lowers Pro was one of complete dominance, as the young Brazilian earned several of the event's top scores including the only flawless 10-point ride while taking the event's highest heat-total of 19.80 out of 20 in his Semifinals victory over Adrian Buchan (AUS), 29.
"I love Trestles so much," Medina said. "It's just such a good wave and it's one of my favorites, I just don't even have words to explain how I'm feeling right now. I'm stoked."
Glenn Hall proved to be the dark-horse of the event, consistently putting on solid performances on both his forehand and backhand to top ASP World Championship Tour surfers Jeremy Flores (FRA), 24, and John John Florence (HAW), 19, en route to the final, but was unable to surpass Medina, finishing runner-up overall.
"It's Lowers, it can turn on or off at any time in the day," Hall said. "You kind of have to be on to it and luck has to go your way as well," Hall said. "I had a few lucky heats earlier in the event and that heat was funny with Gabriel. I thought we were going to have an interference in the beginning and they didn't call it, but it's all good though. He surfed well and he won."
Hall, who has been knocking on the door for elite ASP World Championship Tour qualification for several years, is hoping his result at the Nike Lowers Pro kick-starts his qualification campaign for 2013.
"This is a great result for sure," Hall said. "The way the system is now, if you don't get results in PRIME events, you don't qualify, so I'm relieved with this result and am in a good position to try and qualify now. I'm going to do all of the PRIMES and see how we go."
John John Florence was dangerous at this year's Nike Lowers Pro, constantly dismantling the Lowers right-handers with stylish carves and massive aerials. Florence launched a full-rotation 360 air in his Semifinal against Glenn Hall for a 9-point score, but was unable to find a second backup score and finished equal 3rd overall.
"I kept having these slow heats and I tried to get a quick start and I just couldn't put it together," Florence said. "I had the one big air and got a good score and only needed a small score, I got it and then Micro got a score at the end."
Florence's equal 3rd place finish marked the end to an amazing win-streak for the young Hawaiian, who had consecutively won the ASP PRIME at Sunset Beach, the ASP 5-Star at Pipeline and the ASP PRIME at Margaret River, and his equal 3rd place result at the Nike Lowers Pro continues to secure his position among the top competitors on the ASP World Ranking.
"I'm stoked to have made the Semis, but it would have been nice to have made the Final," Florence said. "I was having fun and the waves have been fun all week so I'm stoked."
Adrian Buchan consistently put on polished performances at this year's Nike Lowers Pro, but fell short of a Final berth when Gabriel Medina surfed a near-perfect 19.80 heat in their Semifinal clash and finished with an equal 3rd place result.
"Gabe surfed an amazing heat and obviously got the jump on me from the start," Buchan said. "I didn't feel like ever really hit top gear. I feel like I surfed well in some of my other heats and didn't catch the best waves, but I guess that's something I can take away from this event and to still walk away with a 3rd, I'm happy. That heat was disappointing, but you can't let Gabe have any of those lefts."

Maybe its the nostalgia but not much was said abouts Occys =9th at Tresles Lower, at 47 he still has unbelievable form and although he's focusing on just qualifying for the Triple Crown, currently he is lying 23th on the one world ranking..could we see the 99 World Champ make a comeback and requalify for the WCT?
Posted by jay on the 07/05/2012 16:14
No he can't. There's no place for an old fart like Occy on the tour...
Whahahahah, just kidding Go Occy!

I have probably not done a aerial in my life and I admire them but I still feel that Medina overcooks it with the amount of it that he does in a heat/contest.His real test will come at Chopes and Fiji.I am in anticipation. How did he do at Pipe.I know it was about 15 ft.

There are certainly a lot of dalties like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Both boys and girls feel the impact of just a moment’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.

2012 Racetech Yamaha Wave Warrior Event
03/05/2012
So you own a Waverunner and you've been getting into the towing, the step-offs, the exploring and maybe even some tow-ats. What now? If you live in KZN and you're looking to put your skills to the test or to learn something new besides getting you and your mates shacked, then pull into the 2012 Racetech Yamaha Wave Warrior Event happening down at Suncoast beach this weekend, 5th and 6th May.
Everyone is welcome to bring their ski's and take part, and there will be opportunities to push your skill levels beyond just surfing. In fact, for the more competitive, you can win some really cool prizes in different categories. There will be four competitive events, namely freestyle, enduro, wave riding and fishing.
It's designed to be a chilled weekend down at the beach for the whole family, and if you decide to compete or not, there will be plenty of activity and you can pick and choose what you want to do on the day. Suncoast are putting up some decent prize money, so if you think you have the moves like Phillips, the Fishing skills of Johnson or the endurance of the Ribbink brothers…then this could be for you.
Alternatively, you could just use your ski to go surfing!
Jason Ribbink pulls into a solid one. He's also used a Waverunner to circumnavigate the entire coastline of SA on a Yamaha Waverunner in 2009's Cost2Cost4Cancer.
When Jeremy Johnson's not charging massive waves, you can usually find him following the big game fish.
Jeremy Phillips is a bad-ass and a hellman and shows what's possible on this kind of equipment.
Check the video if you don't believe us!
