6 Feb - 13 Feb
Pick of the bunch: The party is over in DBN, but Coffee Bay and Slummies cook.
DBN: OK Boys and girls, the party is over. A very average week ahead with bare scraps on offer. Thursday morning and Sat arvo look like the best bets. A good week to catch up on work or do some laps in the pool.
COFFEE BAY: Coffee Bay fires on Wed and Thurs, backs off on Friday and then cooks again on Sat. Not a bad week in the Kei.
EL: Shew next weekend looks pretty fun. Its going to be solid on Sat and could be cooking on Sunday am. Enjoy.
PE: Tuesday arvo could be interesting and then keep an eye on next Sat which could produce a couple of options too.
CT: Late Friday into Saturday could be interesting. Spots that like a southerly swell direction and a strong SE wind will be the go.

Hi Dimakatso. You sound like a ralely enthusiastic debater! Are you a member of your high school's debating club? The way to qualify for provincial and national teams is to compete with your school team in the provincial league. In Johannesburg, the league is organised by SACEE the South African Council for English Education. You can find league contact details on the page. Admin

Hi there MattNot sure how you came about business in Holland. We spent five years there, mvniog from central Rortterdam to Schiedam within six months of arriving in thecountry. It cost not NEAR half our salaries, not gross and not net. Within18 months of arriving we bought a typical three storey house with living quarters on ground, sleeping on first and attic on second.small garden big enough to braai. My son attended the Rotterdam I international (RISS) which we paid for with the money the belastings dienst (SARS) paid back on interest on our bond. This is standard in all countries on the continent. Please don't ask me abouth the mechanics of this as I am no economist either. You can however inquire and verify this with any dutch bank. My wife being a South African had a full time job within two months of arriving there. My son played rugby at the Rotterdam rugby club which by the way was captained by another south African. I can assure you that I am neither a doctor or engineer and yet, the house cost us exactly 20 % of our joint net income. With regards to not being allowed to just move in with faimly and friends, you have misunderstood the reasoning behind it. It is intended to prevent certain individuals from over crowding flats. By making minimum requirememnts in terms of square meterage and facilities per inhabitant, thy effectively avoid a situation where ten people live in a place suitable for three. As for devoid of moral standards, sterile and nothing to live for, well, I suppose that depends on what you expect out of life. If braaieing and sunshine is all you are after, I can agree. If , on the other hand you are looking for long term security for your family in terms of crime, medical insurance, unemplyment fund, education and pension, then it becomes a different story. You must remember that in SA today, less than 20 % of the population has any kind of retirement arrangement in place. Medical costs are sky high and more and more is excluded from cover, it all comes off your savings and when it is finished, well, it is finished. Full stop. I am with discovery, just check on their web site. That South Africa is a great place to live, absolutely agreed upon. But it does also have big flaws that some people tend to overlook when abroad. Before you ask why we left, It had to do with my sons education and his dutch standard, we moved to the UK. I won't elaborate on that but we're back in SA. It is great but it is not the pleasure cruise some people think it is going to be.By the way, the South Africa where anything goes , well, there is the continent for you. Law and order works.
