Sodwana and DBN cook in the early week.

SODWANA
BAY:
Monday fires! Last week nubile dive instructors were spotted drifting gently in a southerly direction with perfect 20m vis and no surge making the citing of other wildlife easier than falling out of bed. The landbreezes are creating epic surf conditions at the lighthouse all morning, while the beer in Digger’s ice chest is so cold it will bring a tear to your eye at the end of a long day of surfing all morning and Tuna fishing all afternoon.

DBN: Monday and Tuesday are the days, decent swell, offshore and great banks between the piers.
COFFEE BAY: Monday to Thursday cooks in the Kei!

EL: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday are the days.

PE: It’s a strange week in PE surf wise with odds and ends on offer until next Saturday when it looks like your best shot of real waves.
CT: A very average week for surfing in The Mother City this week. Best bet is late Friday into Sat, but don’t hold your breath for anything special.

You actually make it apeapr really easy along with your presentation however I find this matter to be really one thing that I think I would never understand. It kind of feels too complex and extremely vast for me. I'm taking a look ahead in your subsequent post, I’ll attempt to get the dangle of it!

Cold shower:A Blog is a self-ego trip that exeosps what you are to totally uninterested people. So, your blog is visited by friends and familly. It does NOT make money.Should your blog be incredibly interesting , then it may be visited by many fans. You may make a few box.Think of it as the X-Factor (or similar in your country):Hundreds of thousands rubbish candidates for three or four that are really worth it.Same for the Blogs. If it is really successful, then make your own website!

SODWANA
BAY:
If there is another trapdoor (apart from Coffee Bay) that leads you directly into the parallel universe it has to be Sodwana Bay. The locals are friendly, the water is warm and super clean and the surf cooks. This week it fires Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

DBN: A great start to the week with Monday firing between the piers. Tuesday and Wed have some leftovers which might stretch into Wednesday then it looks pretty lean for the second half of the week.
COFFEE BAY: Monday to Wednesday fires, then it turns on again from Friday through Sunday. Great week for surfing in the Kei.

EL: Monday and Friday look like the best bets this week.

PE: Sorry guys plenty of short period swell moving past out to sea but a grim week for waves in the Bay.

CT: Thursday, Friday and Sat could deliver a few options but it is strictly maintenance surfing. Nothing special in the Mother City this week.

An icy cold front blows itself out on the East Coast.

16/07/2012

16 July - 23 July
DBN: Monday and Tuesday will have decent waves, but Wednesday morning looks like the berries day this week. Enjoy!

COFFEE BAY: After a hell of a cold front which blows itself out by Tuesday things return to normal in Coffee Bay in the latter half of the week, with fun waves and fair weather from Thursday onwards.

EL: It is too big and washy in the early part of the week as the cold front rages through the eastern seaboard, but Thursday and Friday both look like great days for surfing.

PE: Keep an eye on Monday arvo into Tuesday morning when there could be some waves in the bay, then it is pretty much gone for the rest of the week.

CT: It is a mediocre week at best in the Western Cape this week. The Mother City specifically might get a little pulse on Monday arvo and another one on Friday. Keep an eye on spots that like a bit of west in the swell on Friday, but don’t hold your breath for anything epic. It is a strictly ‘make do’ week for surfing in CT this week.

Erin - Niiice. You're braver than I am! Not only am I telribre swimmer with both hands, but I would not do well with a camera, waves, and trying to concentrate! Awesome job!

Know your source. Never doalnowd from a website unless you know the site is reputable. Perhaps your friend has already used the site, or you can research in forums to see what others are saying about it. Check with Better Business Bureau Online to examine a company's integrity. Beware of sites that try to redirect you to other links or mask their real Web address. Avoid file-sharing networks if at all possible.

The east coast pumps as J-Bay gets ready for an historic Bong Pro surf wise.

08/07/2012

9 July - 16 July
DBN: Small but fun waves with epic conditions especially in the morning right through the week. Then next weekend things go a bit ‘Pete Tong’ with what looks like a cut off low bringing hectic rain and stormy short period swell.

COFFEE BAY: Not only Coffee Bay but the whole Kei absolutely cranks this week, especially the bigger more protected points. The surf doesn’t really get smaller than 6-10ft until Saturday when the onshore picks up. Loads of options in the Kei this week.

EL: Guys frankly most of this week is a case of too much swell! Good winds Monday to Thursday though, so you might want to check those wrap around spots out to find some surfable options.
PE: This could well be the best week of surf you guys get all year! It absolutely cranks Monday to Thursday with possible leftovers on Friday Morning.
Our suggestion is that you surf your brains out on the dawnie, then head through to J-Bay to watch the Billabong Pro. There is an old saying with surf contests that waves make the event. The Billabong has possibly the best lineup of swell for the first 4 days of the event that we can remember. With the fabled Supers offering up waves in the solid 8ft range to start, mellowing out to around 4ft (but still cooking) this is going to be an event for the history books.

CT: The solid weekend swell actually increases in size on Monday before remaining pretty large right through until Thursday at which point there will be a respite to allow battered bodies and broken boards an opportunity to regroup. A classic week of winter cold front surf for the entire Western Cape.

Hi Gang,Thanks for the separate Alerts link a very usufel feature as the inbox can get a bit chaotic!!Can I make a further suggestion relating to the Messaging features? It would be soooo much easier to pick up a thread of conversation with my friends individually if I could view messages sent and received JUST for that friend Maybe you could add a link from each of the My Profile/Friend list entries and/or below each of the thumbnail array entries displayed by the See All link under My Friends on my profile page.Let me know if this suggestion is usufel/achievable?CheersHTP

The new harbour wall skunks Durban again and Cape Town looks set for another solid swell next weekend.

01/07/2012

18 June - 25 June
DBN:  There used to be a time that July cooked in Durban, unfortunately it seems that with the lengthening of the South Pier off the DBN harbour, that time is over. The predominantly southerly orientated winter swells are no longer getting into the bay. This shows day after day of listless 1-3ft slop served up along Durban’s Golden Mile. This week see more of the same with Monday and Wednesday being your best bets. At least the weather is good most of the time.

COFFEE BAY: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday are all great for surfing, but watch out for strong winds next Sunday that will see you running for the shelter of the Buffalo Bar.

EL: Monday is the day, so bunk work, miss school and do what you have to do but don’t miss starting your week with a surf.
PE: Your best bet is on Monday morning, then it is going to be frustrating watching all that swell later in the week swing past the bay without wrapping in.

CT: The long range for next weekend is looking promising, so rest up during the week. Practice your breath hold and polish your rhino chaser because you are gonna need it if that swell doesn’t downgrade a bit.

Certainly the Umgeni did flow into Durban Bay during the great fodols of 1845 and 1856, but I believe that the true mouth of the river has always been near the Blue Lagoon.I quote an extract of an email kindly sent me by Professor John Dunlevey (Geology) dated 27th April 2011 in which he wrote the position of the mouth has been fairly static for quite a long time, but during each sea level low', the river cut quite a deep gorge out onto the continental shelf which has, of course, filled each time the sea level rose. The gorge, filled with soft sediments, providing [sic] an ideal path for the next time the sea level dropped .To round out clarity about fluctuating sea levels, this should be read against an extract from : During the most recent Ice Age about 18,000 years ago, sea levels reached about 120m below current levels, meaning that Durban, if it had been around, would have been about 15km inland And from another source that I am not sure I can identify but think was written by a retired Secretary of the Windsor Park Golf Course: The estuary mouth appears to have moved between the bay and the sea until it was mechanically redirected by the city engineer in the early 1900s due to concerns of flooding, malaria and damage to reclamation works
