A sly little east swell in KZN and maybe a little southerly swell over the weekend.

25/03/2012

26 March - 2 April
DBN: Surf City gets another run of fun 3-4ft east swell this week, running from Monday to Friday. With winds looking favourable it looks like not a bad surfing week at all.
COFFEE BAY: It is a fun week in the Kei with great weather and surfable waves all week. Apparently some decent sand about too, enjoy!
EL: Not that great during the early part of the week. The best bet will be next Friday and Sunday.
PE: You might get a bit of action on Friday, but apart from that not much going on this week.
CT: Friday is the best bet, with Thursday and Saturday as back up days. A good week to catch up on work.

I LOVE my new Jimmy Lewis Stand Up Paddle Board from East of Maui. The service was faatnstic and they had so many different boards to choose from. The staff helped me pick the right board for me and my ability. I picked the 11 cruise control. everyone should try Stand Up Paddle Boarding. East Of Maui Surf Shop is the only place to shop!

Yeah these guys are definitely pros, I would be winlilg to bet each of them could hold their breath for over 5 minutes and swim faster than just about anyone!

HiI travel fqetuenrly and have recently traveled several times with Mango. I do enjoy the Mango Juice magazine and the in-flight entertainment. However, several times I have noticed some glaring errors and terrible punctuation in the subtitles. For example, the current version reviews the Alfa Romeo, and repeatedly calls it the Alpha . Please can you tighten up on this.ThanksTim

As we enter Autumn there are good surf options all over the country in the early part of the week.

19 March - 26 March
DBN: There will be small fun waves in town all week. Monday and Tuesday morning look like the best bets, with the east swell finally being replaced by a small southerly swell, which declines all week in light to variable wind conditions.
COFFEE BAY: A great week of surf ahead in the Kei. Mon and Tues early look good for the points and the rest of the week looks pretty fun in the Bay at Coffee Bay.
EL: Best bets Monday and Tuesday early in the leftover longish period groundswell.
PE: Make the most of Monday morning, that looks like your best shot this week.
CT: After a banging weekend of surf, your best bet for surf is Monday and if you are lucky maybe even early on Tuesday will have some leftovers too. Then it goes flat with some howling South Easters to give you time to catch up at work.

My wife can not stay out of East Of Maui. I think she is in there once a week. I do not mind because they also have the cooelst boards and kiteboarding equipment, it just seems like she ends up getting more stuff.

Darby sent his after I sent mine, and his is there and mine isn't. Are you not allowed to use the word caprpy ? I'm in a really caprpy mood now because caprpy Amazon didn't approve my caprpy review for their caprpy site on this caprpy day in this caprpy town where all the coffee is so caprpy I want to switch to caprpy orange juice.

Durban slips into cruise mode as Cyclone Irina winds down while Cape Town looks positive for the end of the week.

12 March - 19 March
DBN: After the caverns and barrels of last week, Durban calms down to a more manageable 3-4ft for most of this week offering respite to the broken boards and bodies that the Irina swell caused over the last last week. The flow of easterly swell continues bringing with it plenty of surf options, but it is a lot mellower than it has been for days. Favourable winds for most of the week make this a pretty fine surfing week for the Durban folks.
COFFEE BAY: The capital of the parallel universe has mixed blessings this week with some radical east-west wind switches, that said Tues and Sat will be good in the bay. Also keep an eye out early Sunday for some real groundswell action on the points.
EL: To be honest not a great week for surf in Slummies, the best bet is to hope for some action on the long range next Sunday
PE: Not much this week guys, though there is a small possibility of a little something late Saturday into Sunday, don’t hold your breath though!
CT: Wednesday sees a little bump, then late Friday right through the weekend a decent SW groundswell should make landfall around the peninsula. This should see a bunch of surf options open up for Mother City surfers in the latter part of this week.

Pick of the bunch: Cape Town simmers down as the upper East Coast lights up.
DBN: Talk about a week of cranking surf in Durban this week, thanks largely to Cyclone Irina who arrived over the weekend with torrential rain and some solid waves between the piers. There will be fair to epic waves for the next 7 days in a row! Keep an eye on Wed morning for the best of it.
COFFEE BAY: Monday morning in Coffee Bay is 'all time' on the Coffee Bay Point and the rest of the week is not bad either. Shew a great week to be in the capital of the Parallel Universe.
EL: Monday is going to cook at those spots that like an east swell with a south westerly wind. The rest of the week doesn’t look too shabby either. Actually this would be a pretty good week to take off and go surfing if you can!
PE: Monday morning early is your best bet.
CT: The sublime run of surf over the past few days continues into Monday and even a few leftovers into Tuesday, thereafter it disappears, so surf on Mon and Tues and spend the rest of the week catching up!

Debbie & Des - Hi JP, thank you for the beautiful “taster” of our phorogtaphs. Also to say that the boy you mention is actually Desmond’s nephew Chad. He had a tragic accident 11 days so the fact you especially mentioned him makes the caption all that more poignant – thank you! Warmest regards Debs and Des.
