Funso winds down and Slummies heats up midweek.

29/01/2012

30 Jan - 6 Feb
Pick of the bunch: Slummies heats up midweek with multiple options in decent offshore conditions.
DBN: A feisty start to the week rounds off cyclone Funso’s offering. Monday and Wed which come with great swell also unfortunately come with onshore winds. Tuesday is the day.
COFFEE BAY: Apart from some leftover easterly on Monday, the rest of the week offers clean waves ranging from 6ft down to a fun 3ft with epic conditions, enjoy.
EL: Tues, Wed and Thurs Slummies looks fun with multiple options in decent offshore conditions.
PE: Not much to get you guys excited this week, you’ll have to make do with the ripples.
CT: A typical Summer SE dominated week in The Mother City. Best bet will be late Tuesday into Wed for the SE offshore beachbreaks.

I know it's such a bgarain if you just had a plain black dress or shirt you needed to dress up, I love it! I can't wait for all the amazing costume jewellery at the Mawi sale xx

Yeah you'll find there is a lot of dfcferenie especially if you go body boarding on a regular basis. But if you're just looking at starting out and riding the waves occasionally you can't go wrong with the Airwalk Swell.

No as long as your home of record is still Arizona you won't have to get your license transfered. I live in Tennessee and work out of North Carolina and still have my CDL in TN. http://www.dmv4sure.com/michigan-learners-permit.htm What is the process to obtaining a CDL in the http://www.dmv4sure.com/minnesota-learners-permit.htm state of Illinois?

Cyclone Funso creates a wavepark for Durban

22/01/2012

23 Jan - 30 Jan
Pick of the bunch: Durbs for consistent fun waves, warm water and a nice little ‘Funso’ sting in the tail at the end of the week.
DBN: Not a bad week ahead for Surf City. Fun small waves dominate the first half of the week and then a decent push of cyclone swell fills in next weekend courtesy of Cyclone Funso’s antics in the Mozambican channel. Next sat looks like the best bet.
COFFEE BAY: Oh my word you are loving life if you are in Coffee Bay this week. Beautiful daily surf options through the weekdays and some really firing options next weekend. Great weather, warm clean water and apparently the Coffee Shack Surf Guide job is up for grabs. If you think you have what it takes to be the next Coffee Shack Surf Guide email your CV to wackypt@iafrica.com
EL: Fun waves to surf daily but nothing epic all week.
PE: There should be small fun waves Monday to Wed in the Bay, nothing epic but enough to keep you out of the gym.
CT: Luckily you guys had your waves last week because this week is gonna suck. Your best option would be to go join Dutchie on the golf course.

Coffee Bay must be the most consistent surf spot on earth. Either that or someone's embellishing....

Luckily I don't have a boss that can bust me when I go for a round of golf!

@Rich bru have you ever been to Coffee Bay? I know it sounds too good to be true, but seriously it is the trapdoor you need to fall through to get into the parallel universe. @Dutchie you are lucky there are no web cams on the Milnerton Golf Course or your reputation would be shot to shreds and your misssus would be giving you a good klap every time you got home...

Only one way to find out champ. . . . . but from what i'm hinerag it sounds just like someone saying there good at riding a bike and can wonder if they can ride a motorcycle. So I would say yes. You can also start out by surfing towards the shore which will be easier that standing up on a body-board. Then progress to surfing into the wave like you see most people do.

KZN cranks this week in a glut of Tropical Storm and Cyclonic activity.

15/01/2012

16 Jan - 23 Jan
Pick of the bunch: KZN cranks this week
DBN: The cyclone swell factory is open for business in KZN. Conservatively there will be swell everyday for at least a week, which will range between 4-6 ft. This could extend to 10 days depending on what else is brewing in the Indian Ocean. Right now the charts show a hive of Tropical Storm and Cyclonic activity. Tuesday morning looks like the day in Durban, but there will be so many waves over the next week or so you might want to think about pacing yourself!
COFFEE BAY: Unbelievably Coffee Bay finally has a dodgy week of onshore, just to prove that it is not some kind of mystical surf haven created for the sole purpose of destroying our sanity.
EL: You are going to be looking for scraps in amongst a mean streak of onshore this week.
PE: Keep an eye on Thursday and Friday as the west switch and easterly swell may create a few options in the Bay.
CT: It is pretty much flat and freezing on the Atlantic this week with some strong South Easterly winds around the peninsula. The best bet would probably be towards the end of the week in False Bay at spots that like the contour winds.

i'm saedendd by the antagonistic attitudes of political opinion holders toward those with differences. Since both sides clearly hope for peace, security, human values and rights for all people, wouldn't it behoove us to FIRST treat one another with respect and concern for those same reasons and goal ? Are we so seeped in fear of change or the inevitable unknown' that we ourselves will not practice what we believe in ? Is there EVER a full guarantee of a smooth, easy future? Since there isn't, we're left with the choice, as difficult as it is: Do we trust the inherent need in all humanity for freedom and dignity and peace? Or do we succumb to fear and doubt- based prejudices against all who don't agree with us'? Who is us' and who are them'? Are we too scared to even find that out?

Well after 3 nihgts in the piss this week and me feeling rather hungover for most of the week, I can truly say Huey is a right bastard. This week would have to go down as one of the most consistent runs of sizey swell in the first week of October for some time ..and to think I didn't even get close to the beach for the whole time!!!!

I'm so glad you dedecid to link up this week, Heather! This is a really great list. Life tends to teach us the most in our most trying moments, and it sounds like this is no exception.I know that this move, along with other things, is very stressful for all of you, but I also think that there are great things for you down that road, and you seem so much happier in general in spite of the stress. The girls getting their own spaces will definitely let up some of your stress, I'm sure. It's hard to have everyone cramped up together! And your last one? I love that. :)

You are right that Mel Gibson msseis the point of the cross, which is not about how much torture Jesus could endure, but about shame. This is only one of MANY problems in his film.

All time Coffee Bay this week and the KZN swell factory starts the year with a bang.

08/01/2012

9 Jan - 16 Jan
Pick of the bunch: All time Coffee Bay this week and the KZN swell factory starts the year with a bang.
DBN: There is pretty much guaranteed swell for the next 10 days as we feel the effects of a tropical cyclone sitting just off the southern tip of Madagascar. The variables will be local winds but there will be plenty on offer for the next week. Enjoy!
COFFEE BAY: The Coffee Bay Point is a fickle place, but Thursday and Friday will be all time. If you’ve ever wanted to experience Coffee Bay at it’s best, Thurs and Fri are your days. The bonus is that the water there is so warm dress code is strictly baggies or au natural.
EL: The great start to the Slummies year continues this week with some very interesting options especially on Thursday and Friday for those in the know of where to go on an east swell.
PE: It’s going to be small all week guys. Next Sunday could have a few options though.
CT: The best bet this week will be Tuesday late at the Atlantic beach breaks that like a SE, otherwise it all looks like smoke an mirrors.

What sarces me is the embrace of something that is internal, little understood and with no assured outcome to push an alternative agenda. The process in Egypt is full of al kinds of landmines. I hav to say, Obama has been stellar for his diplomacy during this challenging period. He ha pressured when needed while trying to preserve stability. The last thing we need is chaotic nation of 80 million.
