Coffee Bay Point Fires Thursday, Cape Town gets ready for The Big Freeze and the Durbs Summer bowls kick in.

28/11/2011

28 Nov - 5 Dec
Pick of the bunch: Coffee Bay Point fires Thursday, Cape Town gets ready for the big freeze and Durbs Summer bowls kick in.
DBN: The latter half of this week should see the summer bowls start to take shape. They have been a while coming, but the signs are looking good from Wednesday onwards.
COFFEE BAY: Thursday The Coffee Bay Point, fires! Then the out of the way points could be epic next Sunday. The only proviso if you are going bundu bashing is to take a 4X4. Word has it the secondary roads are ‘interesting’ at the moment because of all the rain. On that note you probably want to avoid the river mouths if you can.
EL: Not a great week, you’ll have to wait till next Sunday for a bit of normality to return. Keep an eye on the Nahoon Beachie Tuesday if chocolate ‘superbank’ barrels are your thing.
PE: Wed and Sun early look like the best bets for the surf starved warriors inside the Algoa Bay.
CT: The big freeze is coming on the Atlantic peeps, a whole week of SE howling its brains out, with not much swell to get excited about. The False bay contours are your get out of jail card this week, otherwise knuckle down and do some work.

I am prnyiag that the peace treaty survives the uprsing. Uncertain times. I have said ths a number of times already, uprisings have a bad track record in the Arab world. None have achieved democracy. maybet this wil be differnt, maybe not. Personally I fear backing something that that has an uncertain outcome. This uprising was not organized by a particular movement. It was a loose coaltion put together througcould clash should h social media; There are no realy leaders, but a lot of interested parties who there be a power void.

A double serving of ice cold pits

23/11/2011

21 Nov - 28 Nov
Pick of the bunch: Cape Town serves up a couple of days of ice cold pits midweek, eish sorry for work!
DBN: It’s going to be a case of foraging for summer scraps this week. Time to get that small wave summer board out again and have fun. On the bright side there will be something to ride most days.
COFFEE BAY: While the major points may get a bit blown out, there will be super fun waves in Coffee Bay all week. Watch out for Saturday morning off the point it could be all time!
EL: Shew, Thursday looks amazing, you might want to book that day off this week.
PE: Keep an eye on Wed arvo and maybe Thurs morning. It is always a bit of a lottery as to weather the swells will find their way in to the bay at this time of year, but fingers crossed you’ll have a bit of mid week action.
CT: Tuesday builds with quite a bit of west in the swell, Wednesday and Thursday crank as a classic early summer present. Enjoy!

Who is dicomratec, and who is not? Is it all that black or white'/ good or bad' simple and clear? We have been watching these words being used irresponsibly by politicians for so long, they have lost some of their clarity. When too much power is concentrated in few hands and the political working kept from our sight, things lose their original meaning and take on new ones to fit the new realities. Are humans so easily sorted into good'/'right'/'moral' vs its opposite ? Or, looking deep into what it is to be human, can we see the vast spectrum within us all, which actually makes us more alike than different in nature, human nature. Is life without chaos and change possible, realistic, worthwhile forcing and enforcing'? Nations ruled by dictators tend to be less chaotic than free nations going through the eternal process of living and becoming = transforming and growing. Every super power in history has succumbed to the temptations of controlling life even by force and confiscating human rights. Can we, and Have we helped stabilized a chaotic international scene by supporting brutal dictators, in the name of order and control, and to avoid turmoil/ chaos?Seems that too much of anything, including order' and control, turn sour quickly and become unacceptable to humans. Is there any person or group capable of controlling life enough to fill even basic needs of the people they control? Science or religions haven't yet answered any of these painful dilemmas. Both have been too often used/distorted by power-obsessed leaders, while our world hasn't become any safer or happier than long ago ..Can we forgo our conscience and compassionate side of humn nature in the service of order and 'security'?
