Hi Yana and welcome to theBOMBshell interview. When you think of wave riding, what is the first picture you see in your head?
The biggest wave in the world and a surfer riding it.
What do you most love about the beach?
The sound and smell of the ocean, and watching surfers catching the waves.
Have you ever dated a surfer and if so what was it like compared to a non surfer?
I am dating one at the moment. I am impressed by his passion and love for surfing. In comparison to others he has so much life in his eyes and passion for what he does.

These days plenty of women surf, are you one of the women who make our lineups more beautiful?
I have tried it in Portugal & Bali but am still working up the courage to go in the cold waters here.
Skinny-dipping, yes or no?
I am not against, but only in private.
What is your favorite part of the SA coastline and why?

Sandy Bay. I love the walk and it feels magic there. White sand, turquoise water and the beach is surrounded by mountains, far away from the city – amazing!
What do you think the biggest challenge we face is with regard to preserving our marine wilderness areas for future generations?
I think we need to stop shark finning urgently.
Thank you Yana, for being so cool we’re stoked to offer you a free surfing lesson from Learn 2 Surf (just call Ant on 083 4140567 or check out www.learn2surf.co.za) and hope to see you out there helping to make our lineups more beautiful than they already are.

She’s hot enough to cause a tropical cyclone.

Hi Alex and welcome to theBOMBshell interview. When you think of surfing what is the very first thought that pops into your mind?
Sunny days, freedom, and floating over fresh water.
Lets talk swimwear on girls, what do think works well and what should be avoided at all costs?
Girls who wear swimwear with confidence always look good. You need to be comfortable with your body and wear what looks good on you. I love a Brazilian cut. I think see-through swimwear should be avoided though.
Boardshorts on guys, above or below the knee?
Definitely above!

If you are/were a surfer what surfboard would you/do you ride? An ancient Hawaiian hand made wooden Alaia, a cruisy fun colourful old school longboard or a modern high performance short board?
I would have to say the old school longboard, I think that would suit my personality best. An old school longboard is more retro and very chilled out and a board I would take out to surf and just relax.
Lets talk epic beach party’s for a moment... A full moon rising over the sea, sundowners, a mellow jam session (who would be playing?), what would it take to escalate into the mother of all beach parties?
It would start with some chilled indie music and dirty deep house tunes, and then knowing the friends that I have it would turn into a full blown trance stomping session.

Skinny-dipping, yes or no?
Depends who it’s with… but yes! It’s always so exciting…
If you had the opportunity to spend time in the ocean with any sea creature what would it be and why?
A turtle because they are such cool creatures. They are calm and move through the water with such ease. You don’t always see them and despite their size they are too cute!

If you could make one contribution to help protect our marine and beach resources and preserve them for future generations what would it be?
To stop the catching and eating of marine life on the endangered list.
Thank you Alex we look forward to seeing you on the beach soon or maybe riding (your chosen surfboard) at a surf break nearby soon. For being so cool we’re stoked to offer you a free surfing lesson from Learn 2 Surf (just call Ant on 083 4140567 or check out www.learn2surf.co.za) and hope to see you out there helping to make our lineups more beautiful than they already are.
That’s so awesome… Thank you so much!
