Hi Bronwyn and welcome to the BOMBshell interview. When you think of surfing what is the very first thought that pops into your mind?
Peaceful. There is nothing as soothing as the feel of the water passing you.
Lets talk swimwear on girls, what do think works well and what should be avoided at all costs?
Bikini’s are always first choice. However the simpler the better, so as not to get a strange tan.

Boardshorts on guys, above or below the knee?
I prefer knee length
If you are/were a surfer what surfboard would you/do you ride? An ancient Hawaiian hand made wooden Alaia, a cruisy fun colourful old school longboard or a modern high performance short board?
I prefer a short board, made by Al Merrick.
Lets talk epic beach party’s for a moment... A full moon rising over the sea, sundowners, a mellow jam session (who would be playing?), what would it take to escalate into the mother of all beach parties?
Jodi-Cash, a local artist that I enjoy. It wouldn’t take much, just an increase in the volume, and send an invite out to your mates. It is who you with that makes the party.

Skinny-dipping, yes or no?
No.
If you had the opportunity to spend time in the ocean with any sea creature what would it be and why?
Dolphin, I love their elegance

If you could make one contribution to help protect our marine and beach resources and preserve them for future generations what would it be?
To encourage the youth not to pollute the ocean, rather to become one with it and enjoy the wonderful creatures which inhabit it,
Thank you Bronwyn we look forward to seeing you on the beach soon or maybe riding your Almerick at a surf break nearby soon. She'd love to make a documentary as eye-opening and provocative as The Cove. |

Hi Jessica and welcome to the BOMBshell interview. When you think of surfing what is the very first thought that pops into your mind?
Attractive blonde-haired men.
Lets talk swimwear on girls, what do think works well and what should be avoided at all costs?
It depends what you feel comfortable in - I think bikinis are best. But really, just put anything on and go enjoy the sun and sea!

Boardshorts on guys, above or below the knee?
Both.
If you are/were a surfer what surfboard would you/do you ride? An ancient Hawaiian hand made wooden Alaia, a cruisy fun colourful old school longboard or a modern high performance short board?
When I do venture into the surf it’s on a ginormous longboard so I can try keep afloat!...and to provide maximum space to hide from sharks.
Lets talk epic beach party’s for a moment... A full moon rising over the sea, sundowners, a mellow jam session (who would be playing?), what would it take to escalate into the mother of all beach parties?
Any random who wants to belt out a tune on the guitar is good enough and if you have friends like mine, you won’t need much else for things to get out of hand… perhaps I’ll put them up for rent on Gumtree…

Skinny-dipping, yes or no?
Yes, all the cool kids are doing it.
If you had the opportunity to spend time in the ocean with any sea creature what would it be and why?
A turtle - they’re massive, peaceful and weirdly cute.

If you could make one contribution to help protect our marine and beach resources and preserve them for future generations what would it be?
I think film is a great medium for creating awareness about issues and encouraging people to take action - I would love to make a documentary as eye-opening and provocative as The Cove.

Hi Aurora and welcome to the BOMBshell interview. When you think of surfing what is the very first thought that pops into your mind?
Flying. When I can finally manage to stand up, that’s the only way to describe the feeling.
Lets talk swimwear on girls, what do think works well and what should be avoided at all costs?
I love a classic two piece, especially strapless as I’m OCD about strap tans! But a feminine monokini is always gorgeous. A definite no-no is too big/too small swimwear or something you feel uncomfortable in – it shows!

Boardshorts on guys, above or below the knee?
Above the knee, definitely. In fact, if they have the body, why not a boy short speedo?
If you are/were a surfer what surfboard would you/do you ride? An ancient Hawaiian hand made wooden Alaia, a cruisy fun colourful old school longboard or a modern high performance short board?
I’d love to say ‘a modern high performance short board’ but I am no professional, so I’d have to go with a cruisy fun colourful old school longboard. Although the wooden Alaia sounds incredible.
Lets talk epic beach party’s for a moment... A full moon rising over the sea, sundowners, a mellow jam session (who would be playing?), what would it take to escalate into the mother of all beach parties?
A great band, bon fire, cocktails and of course the perfect crowd!

Skinny-dipping, yes or no?
You only live once – why not.
If you had the opportunity to spend time in the ocean with any sea creature what would it be and why?
A shark! Haha, jokes. Cliché, but definitely a dolphin. Apparently they’re amazing creatures and have always wanted to ride one!

If you could make one contribution to help protect our marine and beach resources and preserve them for future generations what would it be?
I personally feel that pollution is a huge problem in regards to marine life and needs to be addressed in a huge way and everyone can contribute with minimum effort!

Hi Cayla and welcome to the BOMBshell interview. When you think of surfing what is the very first thought that pops into your mind?
Surfing always makes me think of blonde hair, very tanned skin and definitely the waves
Lets talk swimwear on girls, what do think works well and what should be avoided at all costs?
Bikinis always work well when relaxing on the beach. But if you are in the water and surfing then a long wetsuit or a long armed rash vest. Ive always thought that the cut off wetsuits looked a little weird but thats just my opinion :)

Boardshorts on guys, above or below the knee?
Definitely above the knee
If you are/were a surfer what surfboard would you/do you ride? An ancient Hawaiian hand made wooden Alaia, a cruisy fun colourful old school longboard or a modern high performance short board?
A fun colourful old school longboard just because it adds more personality and fun to the experience :)
Lets talk epic beach party’s for a moment... A full moon rising over the sea, sundowners, a mellow jam session (who would be playing?), what would it take to escalate into the mother of all beach parties?
Jack Johnson would be playing :) There would need to be an awesome sound system playing some crazy beats and definitely the right people to start it off :)

Skinny-dipping, yes or no?
Yes :)
If you had the opportunity to spend time in the ocean with any sea creature what would it be and why?
It would probably be the most obvious choice, but yes a dolphin :) I've heard from a few people who were lucky enough to experience dolphins, that it was an amazing experience to be able swim with them and witness their calm nature. I would love to spend an afternoon playing and swimming with them :)

If you could make one contribution to help protect our marine and beach resources and preserve them for future generations what would it be?
Stop the chumming. It will hopefully stop the Great White Sharks coming closer into our beaches. They are an endangered species and need to be protected and not killed by us out of fear.
