Boardshorts on guys, above or below the knee?

definitely above the knee! Im not a fan of baggy long boardies. I especially love anything with a marine vibe, .... Bring on the blue and white stripy short boardies.

If you are/were a surfer what surfboard would you/do you ride? An ancient Hawaiian hand made wooden Alaia, a cruisy fun colourful old school longboard or a modern high performance short board?

I'm between the first and second option. I think I couldn't possibly do an ancient Hawaiian handmade alia any justice, so ill go with the old school longboard. Viva vintage, and a lot more stability :)

Lets talk epic beach party’s for a moment... A full moon rising over the sea, sundowners, a mellow jam session (who would be playing?), what would it take to escalate into the mother of all beach parties?

Some tequila would of course be helpful, some gin, some rum, some whiskey.. Ok I'm not an alcoholic:) I would love to hear some Jason Mraz and enjoy hanging around in some hammocks. (definitely no shoes allowed) ... Later, some splash pools and some house music would pump up the vibe :)

If you had the opportunity to spend time in the ocean with any sea creature what would it be and why?

I'd be sure to pop past Mr Sea Urchin and ask him why he is so mean and also get some tips from the mermaids :) no, but seriously, I would love to spend time with the dolphins because they are such incredible creatures that humans still have a lot to learn about and to learn from!

I would have to say that I would put a lot of emphasis on litter! I have been to the most beautiful beaches, and found that they are soooo dirty. Dealing with litter is something everyone can do, starting from today! Lack of education in rural parts also plays a massive role. I would also like to stress, to divers ,  possible damage that they do underwater when they touch and tamper with ANYTHING down below. Our ocean is more than amazing and it takes just one small gesture to start making a difference.

If you are/were a surfer what surfboard would you/do you ride? An ancient Hawaiian hand made wooden Alaia, a cruisy fun colourful old school longboard or a modern high performance short board?

I have only attempted surfing twice in my life. Once on a short board and once on a longboard. Given the difficulty I had learning on a short board I would have to go with the colourful old school long board - not only because it sounds like it looks really cool but for the practicality of it for not so co ordinately blessed girls like myself :) he he!

It generally doesn't take much more than my awesome friends and cocktails to get me into the party mood! Top that up with the setting described above and I'm thinking of a thailand holiday on Phi Phi Island! Great tunes feauturing David Guetta and Nicky Minaj, fire dancers all around, shisha's on the beach and I don't see myself getting home before sunrise!

Skinny-dipping, yes or no?

with my man... Of course! But in a very secluded setting with no people for miles :)

If you had the opportunity to spend time in the ocean with any sea creature what would it be and why?

Ever since I was a child I always wanted to be the one that they picked to touch the dolphins at seaworld! My love for dolphins has never changed. I have my scuba diving license and find all sea creatures fascinating but nothing beats the dolphin! I had an awesome experience in plentenberg bay where I was saw a huge school of dolphins and swam out to the backline so swim with them! I have never felt so alive in my life! I would love to spend a whole day doing that!

If you could make one contribution to help protect our marine and beach resources and preserve them for future generations what would it be?

I would initiate a beach clean up drive! I would also incorporate strict fines for anyone caught littering and that money would go towards saving endangered species.

Hi Heidi and welcome to theBOMBshell interview. When you think of surfing what is the very first thought that pops into your mind?
The clear connection between humans and nature. And how simple things in nature are designed for our enjoyment.

I really love full costumes, they can be extremely flattering, I’ve seen them on other girls and I absolutely love it, but I can never dare to wear one because I’m afraid of the half tan I’ll be left with.

Some reggae riffs and dub-inspired basslines. Going from super chilled Bob Marley, escalating to some original, jungle drum n bass. That’s my favourite!!

I’ve always loved Turtles, they’re my favorite animals. They are just so chilled and seem so at peace when they’re in the water. Id love to hold onto a big turtles shell and just glide through the water.

If you could make one contribution to help protect our marine and beach resources and preserve them for future generations what would it be?

I would for starters protest against big sea worlds. The animals are NOT meant to be in captivity! Regardless of how well fed and looked after they are. I want to see future generations snorkeling and learning to dive so they can enjoy the animals in their natural habitats.

The excitement that I get when I stay up on my board through the whole wave!

Lets talk swimwear on girls, what do think works well and what should be avoided at all costs?

I think it’s so important to wear swimwear that flatters your body type. There are so many different styles of swimwear out there, which makes it even more exciting! Something that should be avoided is definitely tight fitting bikinis that make other parts hang out ;) and also bikini’s that show off some unwanted areas!

  Usually I’m scared of sea creatures, but I’d have to say a dolphin since they’re the only harmless ones :P and I’ve always wanted to ride and play with a dolphin!

If you could make one contribution to help protect our marine and beach resources and preserve them for future generations what would it be?

I would help clean up the rubbish off the beaches, prevent pollution from going into the ocean, and stop the poaching of dolphins and whales!
